Hi Shelley! You can change your blog layout by going from the blogger home page. You can click on the LAYOUT tab and there are all sorts of options there. You can choose a different layout (you have the dark dots here), you can create your own background colors, change you fonts, font size, colors, etc.
I get my backgrounds from a website called cutestblogontheblock.com. You just cut and paste code and put it on your blog (in the layout section). There are directions on the website too. Hope that helps!
